| The truth is that GSH would have a difficult time running efficiently without its' volunteer staff. We currently have four long term volunteers at GSH, coming for six months or more, and frequently coming back again and again. They have become part of the GSH family and we thank them for all the time and effort that they have put in. |

 |
Dr Timothy Costa |
An American Internist who volunteered to work at GSH for 2 years through the Catholic Medical Mission Board. 2 years has come and gone, but Tim is still going strong at GSH. He is in charge of adult Internal Medicine both on the wards, and in the OPD, but perhaps more importantly runs the daily ARV clinic. Before Swaziland he has also worked in Kenya and Congo as a volunteer. |

Kathleen Hartman |
Also from Catholic Medical Mission Boards, Kathleen came for 6 months in 2001 and stayed 18. Unfortunately for us, her long suffering family called her home in Sept 2002. Whilst here she set up the Home Based Care scheme as it runs today. We are very pleased to say that she returned to GSH in Jan 2005, for a further year. |

Jason Bower |
May 2005 saw the long-awaited arrival of a pharmacist to GSH. Jason is a young pharmacist from Australia who has volunteering for at least 18 months with the Australian Volunteers International program. He is there to strengthen the current pharmacy department - particularly in their delivery and administration of anti-retrovirals.

Sister Maureen McCarthy |
A nurse-midwife from New York City. She is a CMMB volunteer and has been at GSH since August 2005 working both in the Outpatients and Maternity Departments. Maureen is an avid New York Yankees fan, but since coming to Swaziland has had to make do with Australian cricket. |
